Tonight's Story
Did you know that one of the most important days in all of Islamic history happened during the month of Ramadan? It was a time when the Muslims would need every bit of courage they had.
The Muslims in Madinah were small in number — only about 313 people. But a much larger group was coming toward them, and the Muslims were outnumbered. Some of them felt afraid.
The night before the battle, the Prophet ﷺ stood under the open sky and made dua. He raised his hands and prayed so deeply that his cloak fell off his shoulders. He asked Allah for help with all of his heart.
And Allah answered. The Quran tells us that Allah sent angels to stand with the believers that day. The Muslims were not alone — they were never alone. With their faith, their dua, and Allah's help, the small group stood firm.
Against all odds, the Muslims were victorious at Badr. Not because they were the strongest or the largest group — but because they trusted Allah completely. They prayed, they stood together, and they never gave up.
The story of Badr teaches us something beautiful: when things feel impossible, dua and trust in Allah can change everything. During Ramadan, when we turn to Allah with all our heart — just like the Prophet ﷺ did that night — amazing things can happen.
Dua of the Night: Dua for Help from Allah
رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا
Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana
"Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make our feet firm"
This is a dua from the Quran that believers say when facing something difficult. The Muslims at Badr needed patience and strength — and Allah answered them. Whenever you face something hard, you can say this dua too.
