🤗 The Prophet ﷺ and Hasan & Husayn

Tonight's Story

Ramadan brings families together — at iftar, at prayer, at bedtime reading stories just like this one. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ loved his family deeply, and no one made him happier than his two little grandsons, Hasan and Husayn. Whenever they came running to him, his whole face would light up with joy.

The Prophet ﷺ loved to carry Hasan and Husayn on his shoulders. He would walk through the streets of Madinah with one grandson on each shoulder — Hasan on one side, Husayn on the other — while the people of the town smiled and watched with love.

He wasn't in a rush. He walked gently so they wouldn't fall. He held them close so they felt safe. For the Prophet ﷺ, there was no moment too small to show his grandchildren love. That's what made him so special.

Another time, the Prophet ﷺ was giving a talk to a big crowd. He saw Hasan and Husayn walking in, tripping over their little robes. He stopped his talk, walked over, picked them both up, and brought them back with him.

The people watching were amazed. The Prophet ﷺ smiled and said: "I saw my two grandsons and I could not be patient." His love for them was that strong — he couldn't wait even a moment to hold them.

The Prophet ﷺ called Hasan and Husayn "the leaders of the youth of Paradise." He showed us that loving our family — hugging them, playing with them, being gentle with them — is one of the most beautiful things we can do.

Dua of the Night: Dua for Family

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a'yun

"Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and children comfort to our eyes"

The Prophet ﷺ loved his family so deeply. This beautiful dua from the Quran asks Allah to make our families a source of joy and comfort. When we love our families and are kind to them, we are following the Prophet's example.
