Tonight's Story
A long, long time ago, in the quiet mountains near the city of Makkah, there was a cave called Hira.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ loved to go to this cave. He would sit quietly, think deeply, and look at the stars. He wondered about the world — who made the mountains? Who made the rivers? Who made the sky so beautiful?
One special night during the month of Ramadan, something amazing happened. The Angel Jibreel appeared to him and said: "Read!"
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "I cannot read." The angel held him gently and said again: "Read! In the name of your Lord who created everything."
These were the very first words of the Holy Quran. The same Quran we read today! Allah chose the month of Ramadan to send down His most special gift to all of us.
And that is one reason why Ramadan is so special — it is the month Allah chose to give us the Quran, a book of light and guidance for the whole world.
Dua of the Night: Bismillah — In the Name of Allah
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful"
We say Bismillah before everything we do — before we eat, before we read, before we start something new. Tonight is the first night of Ramadan, a beautiful new beginning. Start it with Allah's name.
