Ramadan Night 6 of 30

🚢 Prophet Nuh and the Great Ark

Theme: patience • Free Islamic story for kids ages 5-10

Tonight's Story

During Ramadan, we practice patience every single day — when our tummies rumble, when we wait for iftar, when things feel hard. But did you know there was a prophet who had to be patient for longer than you can even imagine? His name was Nuh.

Allah told Nuh to build a huge boat — an ark — right in the middle of dry land. There was no ocean nearby. No river. No lake. Just sand and dust.

People walked by and laughed. "A boat in the desert? That's the silliest thing we've ever seen!" But Nuh kept building. Plank by plank. Nail by nail. He trusted Allah's plan, even when no one else understood.

When the ark was finished, Allah told Nuh to bring on board those who believed and two of every animal — big and small, fluffy and scaly, tall and tiny. The ark was like a floating home for every creature.

Then the sky opened up. Rain poured down like never before. Water rose higher and higher. But the ark floated safely on the waves. Everyone inside was protected, just as Allah had promised.

Then the sky cleared. Allah commanded: "O earth, swallow your water. O sky, stop your rain." The water went down, and the ark came to rest on a mountain. They were safe. Nuh thanked Allah for His mercy. Patience and trust — that was Nuh's superpower.

Dua of the Night: Dua for Patience

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا

Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran

"Our Lord, pour upon us patience"

Nuh was patient for so many years, even when people made fun of him. During Ramadan, we practice patience too — when we're hungry, when we're tired. This dua asks Allah to fill our hearts with patience.
