Tonight's Story
Ramadan is called the month of forgiveness — a time when Allah forgives us, and when we try to forgive each other. Tonight's story is about a young boy named Yusuf who had a beautiful heart and a special gift — he could understand the meaning of dreams. His father, Prophet Yaqub, loved him dearly. But Yusuf's older brothers felt jealous.
One day, the brothers came up with a terrible plan. They took Yusuf far from home and left him at the bottom of a deep, dark well. Then they went back and told their father that a wolf had taken him away.
But Allah was with Yusuf in that dark well. A group of travelers found him and brought him to a faraway land called Egypt. Yusuf grew up there, and even though life was not easy, he always trusted Allah and stayed honest and kind.
Years passed, and because of his wisdom, Yusuf became one of the most important people in all of Egypt. He helped store food so that when a great hunger came, he could feed everyone who needed help.
One day, his brothers came to Egypt looking for food. They didn't recognize Yusuf — but he recognized them. He could have been angry. He could have sent them away. But instead, Yusuf said: "I forgive you. May Allah forgive you too. He is the Most Merciful."
The brothers cried. They couldn't believe it. Yusuf brought his whole family back together — including his father Yaqub, who had missed him every single day. Forgiveness didn't just heal Yusuf. It healed his whole family.
Dua of the Night: Asking Allah for Forgiveness
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ
Rabbighfir li wa li walidayya
"My Lord, forgive me and my parents"
Yusuf forgave his brothers even after everything they did. During Ramadan, it's a beautiful time to let go of anger and ask Allah to help us forgive. This dua asks Allah to forgive us and the people we love.
