🐜 Prophet Sulayman and the Tiny Ant

Tonight's Story

Did you know there was a prophet who could talk to animals? Not in a storybook — in the Quran. His name was Prophet Sulayman, and Allah gave him gifts that no one else in the world has ever had.

Sulayman was the son of Prophet Dawud. Allah gave him a mighty kingdom — he could command the wind, he understood the language of birds, and he had a great army. But even with all of that power, Sulayman never forgot who gave it to him.

One day, Sulayman and his great army were marching through a valley. And a tiny ant — so small you could barely see it — saw them coming. The Quran tells us exactly what the ant said: 'O ants! Go into your homes so that Sulayman and his armies do not crush you without even knowing it!'

When Sulayman heard the tiny ant, he didn't ignore it. He didn't laugh at it. He smiled — a big, warm smile. A powerful king, who could have marched right past without noticing, heard one tiny ant and it made him smile.

Do you know what Sulayman did next? He didn't say 'I'm so powerful!' or 'Look at my great army!' Instead, he turned to Allah and made the most beautiful dua: 'My Lord, help me to be grateful for everything You've given me and my parents, and help me do good things that make You happy.'

Sulayman had more than anyone could dream of — but what made him great wasn't his power. It was his gratitude. He knew that every gift came from Allah. Tonight, look around at the blessings in your life — your family, your food, your home, your health — and say Alhamdulillah. 🐜

Dua of the Night: Sulayman's Dua of Gratitude

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ

Rabbi awzi'ni an ashkura ni'matakal-lati an'amta 'alayya

"My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for the blessings You have given me"

This is Sulayman's own dua, straight from the Quran. He had everything — kingdoms, armies, the language of birds — but his first instinct was to thank Allah. During Ramadan, we have so much to be grateful for.
