The Day the Sea Opened

The Story

Imagine this.

A whole community was hurrying away from danger. An army was coming closer behind them.

In front of them stretched the sea. It was deep, wide, and impossible to cross on their own.

There seemed to be nowhere left to go.

They were the people of Prophet Musa ﷺ.

For years, a cruel ruler called Pharaoh had treated them badly. He was so proud that he even claimed to be their highest lord.

But Allah planned to set them free.

Allah told Musa to lead his people away during the night.

When Pharaoh found out, he became furious.

He gathered his army and chased after them.

Soon, Musa's people seemed trapped. The army was closing in behind them, and the sea blocked the way ahead.

'We are going to be caught!' they cried.

But Musa ﷺ trusted Allah.

Even when everything looked impossible, he knew Allah had not left them.

He answered:

'No! My Lord is with me. He will guide me.'

Then Allah told Musa to strike the sea with his staff.

Musa obeyed, and the sea split apart.

The water rose on both sides, and a dry path opened through the middle.

Musa and his people crossed safely.

Every one of Musa's people reached the other side.

When Pharaoh and his army followed them, the sea closed again. Musa's people were finally free.

Allah had opened a path where no path could be seen.

This story reminds us that Allah's help can come in ways we could never imagine. 🌊

Dua of the Week: Dua for Trust in Allah

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel

"Allah is enough for us, and He is the best One to trust."

When something feels impossible — like a sea you cannot cross — these are the words to say, just as Musa ﷺ trusted Allah at the water's edge.

Quran Verse: Surah Ash-Shu'ara 26:62

قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ

"He said, "No! Indeed, my Lord is with me; He will guide me.""
